Hamad was feeling stressed! He was having a difficult time focusing on his schoolwork while doing distance learning from home. His last assignment was to write a 7-paragraph essay, and he left it to the last minute because he found writing difficult. “Why are you sighing so much?” his father asked looking up from his newspaper. He told his father all his friends were planning to play online games together tonight. He knew he could only join if he finished his work, and it was going to take too long.

“Schoolwork is very important,” his father reminded him. Hamad knew that was true but playing with all his friends was important too! He came up with the brilliant idea to copy the essay from the internet. He could finish the assignment on time and play with his friends. Hamad smiled and told his father he would go back to his room and work on his essay. “Great! Learning hard work is very important in life!” his father remarked, trusting him. Hamad felt conflicted, his father always worked hard, sometimes even on the weekends. Shouldn’t he follow that example and do the same?
